MY MORNING WALK

I have decided to get off my butt and go walking every morning.  I drop O off at Kindy and head out from there.  It is still crazy hot in Hiroshima with the average high this week being 37 degrees but there are a few good routes to walk either by the river, through the peace park or through the city.  Lets hope I stick to it!

SATURDAY! CELEBRATE!

My Day by N.C.E.McKenzie.

Morning Hiroshima!
Market by the river.
My loot.. Obi and Kimono for new bags.
And an amazing, super old clutch purse with a beautiful clasp.  The outside is so old that the very fine leather feels like the paper that it is lined in.  It also came with a note inside it and a receipt from the bank after taking out $12,000 USD.  Haven't deciphered the note yet but am hoping it says something exciting!
Was given a tiny envelope from our Hermes-scarf-wearing taxi driver with a shiny new 10yen (1 US cent) coin in it. This was a refund for our having to phone the (all women) company instead of flagging down a car.  So sweet.
Hung out with my boys.
Stole some Daphne, my favourite smelling flower from the park.  Spring is in the air!
Relaxed in our sunny new lounge.
And ended the evening with a cup of tea, NZ treats and a game of cards with B. xoxo

HALLOWEEN

Every year a few very dedicated Moms in Hiroshima throw a kids Halloween party in a neighborhood park.  It has become quite legendary so I was excited to whip together a costume for Baby O and head along.
Wow!  It was quite amazing.  O was a bit little to join in all the pinata hitting, apple bobbing, donut eating fun but had a good run around none the less.
I was happy with how the Oscar the Grouch (get it..?) outfit turned out so it was a shame it was too stinking hot to wear all day.
Can't wait until next year!

ROOF TOP BBQ

Last weekend was a long one.  5 days in fact.  Monday was Respect for the Aged Day, Tuesday was a Bank Holiday and Wednesday was Autumn Equinox.  GREAT!  On Monday we were treated to an Argentinian rooftop BBQ with a bunch of lovely friends.
